This car was supplied new to Maurice Bingham Baring by Maranello Concessionaires and registered on August the 1st 1966. Maurice transferred the number plate YN4 to 08699 which had previously been used on his 250 SWB and a 250 GT Lusso #5697 GT which we sold about a decade ago. Maurice always had red Ferraris and 08699 was bought new to replace his Lusso.

An enthusiastic user of his Ferrari road cars, Maurice used the car in a number of events, with success in a number of Ferrari owners club concours events. In 1967 at the Prescott Gold Cup the car was 1st in the F.O.C gathering. The following year 08869 won the Coronation Trophy, in 1976 victorious as the G.T class winner and in 1979 the winner of the John Tate Trophy. Additionally 08699 also was entered into AMOC events, whereupon in 1970, 1971 and 1973 the car won the Valspar Trophy. Also the car was photographed in the 1967 Ferrari year book next to David Clarke's 250 GTO.

Maurice Baring cherished the car untill January 1994 when it's next custodian was Brandon Wang - another major Ferrari collector and 250 GTO owner. He kept the car untill 1995 whereupon it was sold to Nigel Dawes. Nigel owned some of the most desirable cars over the years and entered the car in the 1999 Prada Italia Classica, the Adelaide Classic in 2000, Ecurie Ecosse events in Scotland and Italy and the Le Mans Motoring cavalcades - the special presentation of historical cars before the 24 hour race. The car also competed in other Italia Classica events aswell as Hamilton Tours.

In October 2005 Nigel sold the car to historic racer Steve Tandy who competed with it on the 2006 Tour Auto Lissac. The cars next owner around or before 2009 was John Corrie who kept maintenance records untill the next owner was Peter Rae, under whose ownership the car was successfully prepared for Ferrari Classiche certification.

08699 has been owned by some of the world's major collectors, used successfully in a number of events and comes with a great history file to support it's provenance. This reference low mileage Ferrari V12 GT, with it's desirable specification and Ferrari Classiche authentication, needs nothing other than a new enthusiastic custodian.
